What if one voice could become an entire band?
Jazz vocalist Daniel Nikolov (Bulgaria/Netherlands) invites you into a world where tradition and innovation meet. Using live looping technology, he layers his voice to create rhythm, harmony, melody and improvisation right in front of you - turning a single voice into a full ensemble.
This concert marks the release of his debut EP Take Five, a bold reimagining of five timeless jazz classics - from the rhythmic interplay of Dave Brubeck’s “Take Five” to the ethereal reinvention of Ornette Coleman’s “Lonely Woman”. Each piece transforms into something fresh, groove-driven, and unexpected, while still honoring its jazz roots.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- A one-of-a-kind solo looping show
- Classic jazz standards reshaped in bold new ways

ABOUT DANIEL
When you embrace your voice, you tap into the essence of who you are.
For Daniel Nikolov, the voice is the oldest and most compelling musical instrument - its power lies in the intimate connection it creates with the listener. While it’s a universal tool for communication, Daniel transforms it into a canvas for storytelling, improvisation and a vast variety of sound textures.
His journey began at the age of 7, when he joined a children's vocal ensemble, performing across festivals, competitions, and concerts as both a soloist and an ensemble singer. Early on, he developed a love for vocal harmony. Introduced to jazz and a cappella singing during his high school years, Daniel discovered the limitless possibilities of the voice as both an instrument and a vehicle for expression.
A graduate of the Prins Claus Conservatorium and the New York Jazz program, he studied with renowned singers such as JD Walter, Francien van Tuinen, Esra Dalfidan and Marjorie Barnes.
Daniel’s music lives at the crossroads of his deepest desires: improvisation, expressive vocal soundscapes, and looping as a tool to arrange and build songs live on stage.

THE ARTWORK
The EP Take Five comes with its own visual identity: a striking painting by Nadine Touré, created as the official album cover. The work is divided into five connected parts, each inspired by a track of the EP. At the concert, you’ll not only hear the music but also get to meet the artist behind the painting that tells the story of the album in color and shape.
